Bronte, Sara and Hayden from Year 5 created this podcast.  They created it at home using Audacity then brought it on a USB thumb drive.  They are trying to convince me to stay in Broome next year!  They brought it in for the surprise party the E-Club kids threw for me!  How wonderful are these children!!!  As I keep telling them, I am moving to be closer to my family and I will miss them dreadfully!

Thank you Hayden, Sara and Bronte, I get tears in my eyes every time I listen to it!

Mr Tony, our principal just returned from long service leave.  During his time off he hiked through the Eastern Kimberley.  This is a fantastic podcast put together by Hayden (year 5) and Jackson (year 6).  They thought of wonderful questions to ask and then did a brilliant job putting it all together in Audacity.

Well my primary kids have now taken over! The only thing I have to do now is upload the podcasts.  So, I aplogise that it is taken a couple of weeks; as Jake, Jackson and River have had this finished for a while!

For the first couple of minutes, Jake interviews Miss Di our wonderful librarian.  Then the second segment is River from year 3 interviewing her Dad who works in the computing industry.  Thanks John for being interviewed!

Year 5M and 5B had a fantastic camp up in Bardi Country, north of Broome.  The students learned more about the local culture.  Thank you to Ellie and Emma for putting this podcast together and of course all the students in 5M who spoke so confidently!

"The Kimberley Land Council is a community organisation working for and with Traditional Owners of the Kimberley, to get back country, to look after country and to get control of our future."

The Kimberley Land Council held their AGM recently.  Sara from The SMC Podcasters interviewed Wayne Bergmann about this AGM and the trip to Fitzroy Crossing, 500km inland of Broome.

The theme for Book Week this year is Book Now.  Book Week 2006 starts on the 21st of August.  Our fantastic library teacher Miss Di has organised lots of fantastic activities to celebrate book week, reading and books.  Lucy in Year 5 interviewed Miss Di to find out what is happening.

Click here, then click on one of the banners to find out more information about Book Now or to play cool Book Week games.

I recently worked with teachers and principals of the 13 Catholic Schools in the Kimberley to promote teaching in the area.  We created a DVD which was presented at a Principals' Conference in Perth.

This podcast is the introduction prayer used in the DVD.

Please note: This media file is in m4v format.  I have not worked out how to convert it to mp4 yet sorry!  I have only been able to get it to play in iTunes on the PC.

This podcast created by Tylah and Cathryn in grade 3 talks about the great specialist classes we have at St Mary's College.  Our specialist classes consist of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) with Miss Terri, Dance with Miss Vicki, Music with Mr Dan, Sport with Mr Dennis and Library with Miss Di.  We love going to specialist classes!

Students in E-Club created this Podcast when we very first looked at podcasting, we could not publish it at the time.  However, I used it for in a prayer with teachers.

This podcast also has the song which we created for the Today Show super school competition.

This podcast tells you how to log onto the computers at school according to the pre-primary class PPJ.  Some of the audio is a little hard to understand, but they did a fantastic job giving it a go and getting used to being record!

In the first podcast, I mentioned that I was going to start off with podcasts, which is still true... However, vodcasting sounds exciting too!

Tonight, whilst watching The Nutty Professor, I have been looking at wmv to mp4 convertors. I could not find a freeware one, however,  I found a shareware one called ConvertMovie and tried the evaluation version.

The video is a simple animation created using Anim8or, then imported into MovieMaker.  It was created by Jake in year 6.  Jake has teaching himself this application (and has started to teach E-Club and myself).  He has been working through the tutorials on the Anim8or website.

Well done Jake! I want to learn this great free application in the next holidays.
